CLIENT: Paramount Pictures & Jockey International
ROLE: Art Director + Designer
SITUATION: Paramount Pictures approached Jockey about featuring some of our retro styled product in the Anchorman 2 film. In the movie Paul Rudd’s character is seen modeling the product.
TASK: Concept packaging for the retro style underwear, presentation of concepts to Paramount Pictures, design of POP retail fixtures, print media and digital assets.
ACTION: I wanted a very retro look to match the style of the movie. I was inspired by the really funky 70’s patterns that the cast was wearing and especially the color palette. I pulled together several mood boards of inspiration and shared idea with the team at Paramount and we narrowed it down to the final concept, which Will Ferrell himself approved. I created digital assets, packaging and retail fixtures utilizing the concept I had create.
RESULTS: Feedback from Paramount was extremely positive. Product sold well as a fun novelty purchase. We were able to have Will Ferrell sign product packages and use them as part of the promotion as well. The box itself was featured in a segment on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
